Weston Ladies hosted top of the table Claverham on a blustery Monday evening. Claverham shot out of the blocks, scoring at over 5 an over until Cho Ahmed made the breakthrough to remove Elliott who was well caught by sister-in-law Mily Ahmed. Claverham played the gaps well and started to build a good partnership until quick thinking Clarke scooped up the ball on an overthrow to help run out Starr.
Hogarth was exceptional in the field once again, contributing to two run outs and a catch off Ho who finished with 3-17. The 5th wicket partnership looked to be taking the game away from Weston as Caddy and Francis batted well together, but Ho returned to clean up the remaining batters as the innings closed with Claverham 96 all out.
In reply, Weston suffered an early blow, losing Hogarth in the second over, but Clarke batted watchfully, picking out the gaps and rotating the strike well, and was well supported by Izzy Watson who played a very mature innings to finish 17 not out. Clarke carried her bat for 32 not out as Weston comfortably recorded their victory in the 12th over.
