On Tuesday 6th June, Weston Ladies participated in a Softball Festival hosted by Somerset Cricket Foundation and played on the hallowed turf of the CA County Ground, Taunton.

The team have been going from strength to strength after a successful recruitment drive, and despite early losses, some good training sessions and match experience are beginning to pay off.

We have also been lucky enough to partner up with existing club sponsor Fleet 24, which has allowed us to source new training kit and club clothing.

Playing two fixtures, the first against Ilminster, and the second against Taunton, Weston recorded one loss and the first victory of the 2022 season.

Women's Captain Nicky Clarke said
'It's great to see so many women getting involved and having fun. Not only that, they are improving with every training session and match. I've never been lucky enough to play at the county ground before, so I jumped at the chance to enter a team, and I'm glad we were able to have that experience.'
