A message to all
After ten unforgettable years at Weston-Super-Mare Cricket Club I will be moving to join Burbage & Easton Royal Cricket Club for 2026 season, where I will be competing in premier division 1. This decision has been one of the toughest I have ever had to make as Weston has been my home since the beginning of my cricketing journey.
From my first junior sessions to representing the senior sides Weston Super Mare CC has shaped me not only the cricketer I am today, but the person I have become. The club has provided me with opportunities, guidance and friendships that I will always treasure. I have had the privilege of being part of supportive and inspiring environment, and am incredible grateful to every coach and teammate, volunteer and member who has played a part in my development over the past decade.
I also want to express my heartfelt thanks to those within the club who have consistently encouraged me to push myself and pursue the highest level of cricket I can achieve.Their belief in me has played a key role in opening the door to premier 1 cricket and supporting my ongoing involvement with Somerset Academy. I am determined to continue working hard and making the most of the opportunities ahead as I take this important next step.
Although I will be playing elsewhere in2026 this is far from goodbye, I hope to remain available for selection to represent Weston-Super-Mare CC under-19s if commitments allow, and if I earn my place in the team. Both my dad and I will continue to support the club in every way we can, including annual events and around the ground whenever we are able to be there.
Weston-Super-Mare CC will always be a club I am proud to be associated with, and wish all supporters every success for 2026 season and beyond. Thank you for everything you have given me-I am excited for the future, but I will always carry a piece of Weston with me wherever I play. ------ Harvey Richard
