WSMCC have added to their 1st XI squad for the 2023 season with the signing of left arm spinner Ashley Allen, an Academy graduate who last played for the club in the 2018 season.

Ash took an incredible 429 wickets for the club in his first spell, after which he left for WEPL Premier One opportunities at Lansdown CC.

He played a significant role in the 1st XI competing in Premier One in the early 2010’s, winning promotion from WEPL Somerset in 2017 and in winning the Somerset Major Cup in 2014. That cup final included Ash smashing 32* from just 9 balls, and taking 3/31 with the ball as WSM won by 17 runs.

Everyone at the club are buzzing to have one of our own back with us next season, and we can’t wait to see him back in action at Devonshire Road in 2023.
