The club is launching its latest fundraising project, with a number of players and members running the Weston Half Marathon to raise money for the club and our Charity Partner Weston Hospicecare
Like many other small businesses we have been hit hard with COVID restrictions having a significant impact on the income and sustainability of the club.
To help offset this, more than 25 members of the club will be running the Weston Half Marathon with an aim of raising over £10000.
This money will go towards much needed clubhouse renovations, training equipment and facilities maintenance.
Throughout the year there will also be other fundraising events, memorabilia auctions and raffles.
A proportion of this money will also be donated to our friends at Weston Hospicecare.

Grace Dibden Senior Fundraising Manager from Weston Hospicecare commented:
"The support Weston-super-Mare Cricket Club has given to Weston Hospicecare’s events over the last few years has been invaluable and allowed us to take our events to the next level. The Club is HQ for our main flagship event, the Mendip Challenge, which sees over 1,000 of our incredible supporters take on a challenging hike across the Mendip Hills. The Cricket Club provide the venue for free, allow us to borrow equipment when needed, supplies free drinks and food to our amazing volunteers on the day, provides free parking for the event, shows huge professionalism and kindness in pre-event preparations and planning, and also recruits an invaluable and incredible group of volunteers for the day to provide support with car park marshalling, bar staff and catering. When COVID-19 hit, the way our events needed to be run changed considerably, the Club stepped in without hesitation when we were desperately looking for a venue to host our most recent Men’s March and the event was a great success. With the layout of the venue allowing for social distancing and a COVID secure event. We cannot thank WSM Cricket Club enough for their unwavering support and generosity, the events held at the Club over the last three years have raised over £130,000 for Weston Hospicecare and that total is going up every day. Thank you!"
