2019 in review - Off field events

It's been another busy year for the club off the field, as they hosted numerous events, including a new partnership with local charity Weston Hospicecare

May 26th saw the club host the annual Beer & Cider Festival, with music from brilliant locals Harrisen Larner-Main and The Leylines. Over 300 visitors took in over 40 local Beers and Ales, enjoying a friendly game vs local charity team Shaftesbury Road on the Sunday before the live music saw the Bank Holiday finish in style.

June 2nd saw us host the Weston Hospicecare Mendip Challenge, with over 1000 walkers setting off from the club to complete walks to raise money for a great cause. An early start (5:30am!) was a challenge for the clubs volunteers, but they pulled through magnificently to put on a great day.

Later in the summer, the club hosted the It's a Knockout competiton, again for Weston Hospicecare. It was another great day, with the weather holding and the World Cup Final on in the clubhouse.

Finally, the club hosted The Leylines' Christmas Party, with over 300 people enjoying the night and dancing Christmas away. A great way to finish off the year, with the club gearing up for its 17th birthday in 2020.
